Can leaving my battery pluged in while dissconecting the air flow sensor mess it up?

I had unpluged my airflow sensor to remove my air filter. But i failed to remover the battery terminals first. Could that have messed up my air flow sensor. Car is a 1993 mercury topaz with a 2.3 ltr 4 clynder enigine. Help?
